Selenium and Magellan (Imagine Communications) continue their evolution at NAB 2025
During NAB 2025, Imagine Communications will highlight the latest advances of the Selenio Network Processor and Magellan Control System duo, a widely deployed combination designed to allow all types of broadcasters to improve their operational efficiency and help them in their technological transition process.
Magellan Control System, solution that offers Comprehensive IP/SDI routing control, orchestration, monitoring and analysis in real time, it has consolidated its compatibility with SDI, SMPTE ST 2110, VSF TR-08 JPEG XS and MPEG-2 TS signals. The tool easily integrates with other systems, allowing you to easily launch new production environments “on time and on budget.”
With the aim of continuing to enhance the possibilities of IP environments, Imagine will present its new function at NAB 2025 Magellan AudioFlex, which provides single-channel granularity for audio routing. This development allows operators to take any channel from any signal and assign it to “anywhere.”
In parallel, Imagine continues adding functions to Selenio Network Processor (SNP), a tool used for tasks ranging from signal conversion and HDR processing to conversions in mobile units or multiviewers for installations integrated into HDR. The latest additions include the recently launched SNP-XL, which expands the capabilities of the SNP platform - IP gateway, UHD and HDR conversion, multiviewers or master control with greater SDI flexibility.
John Mailhot, senior vice president of product management at SNP, analyzes the current state of broadcast environments, defining along the way the role of broadcast solutions. Imagine in these contexts: "I am pleased to see that the ST 2110 standard has taken root and become the basis for the design of fixed and mobile production facilities around the world. As broadcasters and other media companies make this change, they can rely on the proven combination of Magellan and SNP to meet all their operational and business requirements."
