Imagine - SNP-XL - IBC 2023

The Selenium Network Processor (SNP) range of signal processing solutions from Imagine grows with the new SNP-XL, a solution present in IBC 2023 which doubles its capacity and adds support for more SDI-intensive integration patterns.

SNP-XL supports all current SNP functionality, including conversion UHD y HDR, multiviewers, master control and JPEG XS. However, Imagine itself points out, users will be able to see how the new SNP-XL enables an increase in flexibility of the SDI workflows, enabling processes such as SDI in+out, SDI in+out+IP out, and quad-link SDI-to-SDI processing for UHD use cases. Similarly, the new, SNP-XL features new “dual density walkway” which allows offering double the gateway capacity within the same unit size.

The new SNP-XL, on display during IBC 2023, also supports HD SDI, 3G and 12G input and output in all combinations, enabling universal conversion at the front end of a hybrid installation, sending the processed input signals to the infrastructure Legacy SDI and simultaneously to the IP/2110 environment. John Mailhot, director de tecnología de infraestructuras de Imagine Communications, highlights the new SNP-XL within the Selenio ecosystem: "The ability to scale and adopt new formats has made IP an attractive design pattern, but everyone will make the transition at a pace that will depend on their own economics. SNP-XL recognizes the longevity and criticality of SDI even during the 2110/IP transition, offering a high-density synchronization gateway that allows customers to migrate to IP at a pace that aligns with their overall system strategy."
