The Plató Nou de Lavinia hosts the presentation of the Paréntesis Media awards, focused on AI

Twenty outstanding personalities and entities in the field of technology, journalism, health and education will be awarded the first edition of the awards Middle Parenthesis next April 24 at a gala that will host the New Plato of Lavinia, an environment prepared for virtual production contexts.

The day of Middle Parenthesis, part of Lavinia AI, a company specialized in AI applied to communication and which is part of the Lavinia Group, will aim to explore the latest trends, challenges and opportunities that AI offers to the industry, led by top-level experts and professionals. Next, the awards ceremony to relevant personalities and entities in the sector.

One of the winners, Xavier Mitjana, will star in the inaugural conference on Audiovisual and Artificial Intelligence (sic). Mitjana is a technology communicator specialized in generative AI and creativity, awarded as Best AI Youtuber, ex aequo with Jon Hernández. A round table will follow, moderated by Joana Barbany, president of the Digital Cluster of Catalonia, and in which four journalists participate, ex aequo winners of the award for the best AI disseminators: Xantal Llavina, from Catalunya Ràdio; Mariola Dinarès of 3 Cat; Montse Rigall, from National Radio, y Áurea Rodríguez, author of several books on AI and technology.

The gala will recognize the work and dedication of the most relevant personalities and entities that are leading the transformation of the sector through AI. Among the most notable personal categories is Sam Altman, recognized as Person of the Year; Mateo Valero, founding director of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) and awarded as Spanish Person of the Year; Adrià Recasens, Research Scientist at Google DeepMind recognized as Catalan Person of the Year, or Anna Giralt, cinematographer and Best Entrepreneur Award.

Other recognitions will be the Best European Project Award for its support in AI research to Barcelona Supercomputing Center; Eleven Labs, which will receive the Best Voice Tool Award for its powerful algorithms; Freepik, Award for the Best Generative AI Integrative Platform, or the Clarín Newspaper, Award for Best Latin American Project.
