In his second film, Andrés Goteira shoots 'Monstro' in Galicia
In various locations in Galicia, Andrés Goteira is filming 'Monstro', a film produced by Gaitafilmes in co-production with Bite Films e Indigenous Films which proposes a journey into fantasy and mystery, through a silent narrative.
In this feature film, the director, editor, screenwriter and co-founder of Gaitafilmes, Andrés Goteira (Meira, Lugón, 1983), explores the tension between fear and identity through a silent narrative. The film takes the viewer on a personal journey crossing the intersection of boredom, isolation and the pressures of modern life.
Monster, starring Durán Morris and Iván Marcos, is a journey into fantasy, silence and mystery. A man arrives at an isolated house in the middle of nature and decides to settle there to escape the monotony of the city. He seems to feel comfortable in the solitude of that strange home until he discovers that an ancient creature lives in a mysterious mountain near his house.
The production is inspired by the heat of the typical wood-burning stoves of Terra Chá, with countless natural settings near the Meira region, the birthplace of the Gaitafilmes production company. The essence of the most ancient Galicia is being photographed by Lucía C. Pan with a camera ARRI Alexa 35 and optics Cooke.
Monster is financed by the Axencia Galega das Industrias Culturais de la Xunta de Galicia (AGADIC) and the ICAA and with the participation of RTVE and CRTVG.
