RTVE advances in the convergence of coverage by creating the Central News Table

Spanish Radio Television For the first time in the Torrespaña newsroom, it brings together those responsible for all the news formats in a Central Table that will allow joining efforts in television, radio and digital, making greater use of resources and amplifying the Corporation's content production capacity.

The objective is to carry out public service work in all those formats that citizens choose to inform themselves, aware that information consumption habits have changed. The Central Table will facilitate coordination taking into account the uniqueness of each format and represents the first phase of the information convergence process promoted by RTVE's new news management.

In this new wording, the Central Table becomes nerve center in which all informative proposals come together and from which all coverage is coordinated. On either side of the Table are the editions of the News News and the 24 Hour Channel; between them, those responsible for Digital, RNE and Production, together with the editor-in-chief, the figure in charge of establishing work flows and connections between the different information spaces.

The SSII areas are distributed around the Central Table, reinforced with key positions from the Digital editorial team: RTVE Noticias, RTVE Play, Social Networks and YouTube, to facilitate more agile and coordinated response in coverage breaking news.

Los Territorial Centers They also have a prominent location in this new newsroom, with a position that allows continuous and fluid communication with the editions of the News News and Canal 24 Horas, RNE and Digital, aware of the importance of the network of Centers and the richness they contribute to RTVE's news.

Demand for digital information grows

The data supports the need to promote digital channels as a complement to traditional television. To cite some figures, the RTVE Noticias TikTok channel has more than 2.1 million followers, on YouTube in 2024 it will reach 300 million views and 2.5 million subscribers. It should be noted that half of the digital audience comes from America: Mexico, the United States, Colombia and Argentina mainly.
