Alejandro Castro (VANTeC): “Our idea is that our solutions adapt to the client and not the other way around”
Alejandro Castro, director of operations at VANTeC, analyzes in this video interview at IBC 2025 the possibilities offered by extended reality that, using LEDwalls with reference partners such as Alfalite, opens creativity to unsuspected limits without having to leave the filming set.
VANTeC, a systems integrator with more than 35 years of experience in the Portuguese and international market, is working intensively on extended reality solutions using LEDwalls. As Castro emphasizes, “We are brand and supplier agnostic.. Our idea is that our solutions adapt to the client and not the other way around.”
Regarding projects with LED screens, he recognizes that although production with chroma opened many doors “now production with LED and extended reality is breaking down walls“.
At this moment, VANTeC is carrying out an interesting project at the production company EMAV-Plural implementing a study for extended reality with 25 meters of LEDs from the Spanish manufacturer Alfalite and tracking systems from Pixotope.
“The Pixotope-Alfalite combination is already proven. They are two partners in whom we fully trust. This is a large-scale project that places Portugal on the European and world map of extended reality production,” says Castro.
"Extended reality is a reality in Portugal. The EMAV project is a turnkey project designed and integrated by VANTeC, which we are sure will be the first of many and is one more in our long and rich history in virtual production," he highlights.
