The Feroz Awards pay tribute to the pioneers of Spanish cinema in Pontevedra with colloquiums and meetings
Lola Salvador, Cristina Andreu and Sol Carnicero, among other personalities, will be part of the tribute promoted by the Feroz Awards to the pioneers of Spanish cinema promoted within the framework of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
For the second consecutive year, the Feroz Awards have prepared a series of activities with a markedly feminist character in November to bring the people of Pontevedra closer to some essential figures and trades in the audiovisual sector, but they do not always have visibility for the general public. The initiatives combine meetings, master classes and colloquiums.
Among the programming, highlights Pioneras film series, a series of colloquiums promoted with the aim of recognizing the directors, scriptwriters and producers who paved the way, who are a reference for those who came later. In these talks, beyond enjoying the cinematographic work, the difficulties of those filmings will be made known, what the film sector was like at that time and the evolution of the figure of women in the industry in recent times.
On Saturday, November 1, the Teatro Principal will host the screening of Brumal by Cristina Andreu with the presence of the director herself (founder and president for seven years of the Association of Women Filmmakers CIMA) who will talk with Teresa Cuinas, CSAG journalist; Wednesday, November 5th will be the producer Sol Carnicero who chat with Maria Hermida (The Voice of Galicia) about Let's go, Barbara, Cecilia Bartolomé's debut film; On Thursday the 20th it will be screened night function by Josefina Molina, who took autofiction to another level, with the presence of the journalist Concha Barral along with Belén López (Diario de Pontevedra), and on Monday the 24th there will be the screening of The Cuenca crime and the discussion with its screenwriter, Lola Salvador. The master class of Cristina Rodríguez, film and TV costume designer as well as television presenter and collaborator, will be on Wednesday, November 19 at 7 p.m. at the Faculty of Design (free entry until capacity is reached). Rodríguez will share with attendees his professional perspective as a stylist for films and series, his creative process and his vision of the sector. The activity, which was already carried out last year with the collaboration of Debut, the catwalk of the master's degree in Creative Direction and Fashion Design taught in Pontevedra, will be moderated by Lola Dopico, coordinator of the master's degree in Creative Direction and Fashion Design (UVigo).
For him November 20 at the Faculty of Communication, la Academia Galega do Audiovisual proposes an activity focused on the audiovisual script and its role as a living structure within the creative process of a work. with the day Writing processes: script, interpretation and editing The aim is to highlight the script as a tool for dialogue between different professions and sensibilities, at the same time offering the public an opportunity to learn about the internal processes that shape the stories that reach the screen.
On Wednesday, November 26, the Professional College of Journalists of Galicia and the Feroz Awards will join forces to hold a meeting on cultural journalism entitled Inform about cinema. The event will be on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Casa da Luz, and will feature the participation of Maria Guerra, president of the Association of Cinematographic Informants of Spain (AICE); Angel Suanzes, journalist from the Audiovisual Services Corporation of Galicia (CSAG), and Andrea Villa, specialized in cinematographic cultural communication. Finally, this series of events will end on Thursday November 27 with the announcement of nominees for the 13th edition of the IAEC awards. In the afternoon, there will be a colloquium at the Principal Theater with the interpreters revealed by the candidates, to chat with the Pontevedra public about their careers, the current audiovisual panorama and comment on the favorite titles of the Feroz 2026.
