Color, brightness and precision: the MiniLED Traulux T-Rent from Charmex transforms the TV3 news set
TV3 (3Cat) bet on the solution Traulux T-Rent MiniLED de Charmex and by processors NovaStar COEX to reinforce the staging of its recently renovated news set.
LED panels Traulux, with 1.9 mm pitch, offering high brightness, energy efficiency and 99.5% DCI-P3 color coverage, adapting them to television broadcast environments with accurate color reproduction. The heart of the set is a 147 m² (42 × 3.5 m) perimeter LED screen composed of T-Rent MiniLED and T-Rent Flex technologies, which surrounds three quarters of the studio and generates an immersive environment with great visual impact, to which are added three totem-type vertical screens (2.5 × 3.5 m) based on T-Rent VR, two mobiles on the walls and one “180º 360º” rotating central screen, known as the “giratutto”.
To manage the video system, the set incorporates the new series NovaStar COEX, latest generation in LED processors. The system is made up of two processors COEX MX-6000, configured in Master and Backup mode, and a network of optical transceivers CVT10-S that offer stability, redundancy and operational flexibility.
The use of the COEX series has been key to achieving a 7680 Hz refresh rate and one 99.5% DCI-P3 color depth. Thanks to the 22-bit algorithm of the receiving cards A10s Pro, an “outstanding” gray scale is obtained, essential for the visual fidelity required by a news set like the one at TV news.
Pauli Subirà i Claramunt, director of Image and Artistic Services at 3Cat, states that from the house they feel “very satisfied” with the integration of this technology, which “not only improves the visual narrative of Telenotícies, but also places the CCMA as a pioneer in the adoption of innovative solutions for television production.”
