Grass Valley Delivers China's First 100% IP UHD Mobile Unit
Guangdong Radio and Television (GRT) has commissioned Grass Valley a UHD mobile unit that stands out for being the first in China to opt for a native IP infrastructure.
During the delivery ceremony, which was attended by senior executives of GRT, Sailing Hightop y Grass Valley, a spokesperson for Sailing Hightop expressed his gratitude to all project partners, noting that the “seamless collaboration in the design, integration and implementation of the system ensured that the project was completed on time, on budget and to the highest quality standards.” According to the GRT spokesperson, the new mobile unit will improve the station's ability to produce and broadcast sporting and entertainment events on a large scale in 4K UHD.
The new mobile unit claims to be “the China's first IP native UHD system”.Equipped with cameras LDX 135/150 de Grass Valley and the switch K-Frame CXP de Grass Valley, the system supports live production in 4K and 8K with HDR and WCG capabilities, while its distributed workflow allows the real-time remote collaboration and future cloud deployment through GV Orbit SDN y AMPP (Agile Media Processing Platform). The design too maximizes space and energy efficiency, and enables cross-platform content delivery through native conversion from landscape to portrait and vice versa.
The project, according to Grass Valley, reflects the company's commitment to innovation and close collaboration with partners across the Asia-Pacific region. As explained Alain Wang, Grass Valley China Sales Director: "This project is a powerful example of what can be achieved when innovation, collaboration and vision come together. We are proud to support Guangdong Radio and Television and Sailing Hightop in delivering China's first native UHD IP OB truck, a future-proof solution that sets the standard for 4K and 8K live production in the region."
