El acuerdo brindará oportunidades únicas en TikTok a los audiovisual rights holders of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, such as the possibility of live broadcast moments of the matches, post personalized videos and access special content produced by FIFA for TikTok. Broadcast networks will also be able to monetize their World Cup coverage through formats advertising premium from TikTok. Likewise, the digital platform will apply policies against piracy to promote and protect FIFA's intellectual property rights.

The preferred platform agreement will be focused on the Tournament Specific Information Center, which will feature TikTok-themed content for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, a meeting point powered by GamePlan, the tool launched by TikTok, which allows fans to enjoy unique content about the 48 participating teams, consult information about matches and ticket sales, and enjoy other incentives, such as personalized stickers and effects or gamification functions.

Additionally, for the first time, FIFA and TikTok will develop a special program for a select group of content creators from all over the world, who will have access to exclusive moments, such as press conferences and training sessions. In this way, fans will be able to follow the experiences of TikTok creators during the World Cup.

Mattias Grafström, secretary general of the FIFA, defines this agreement as "a pioneering collaboration that will innovatively and creatively connect fans around the world with the World Cup, with unpublished images and the closest coverage to date. Football continues to grow, evolve and unite more and more people, so we must adapt the ways in which we share and promote this sport."

From the prism of TikTok, James Stafford, Global Director of Content at Tiktok, adds: "Football has grown exponentially on TikTok in recent years, and as FIFA's preferred platform for the first time, we are very excited that fans can enjoy the 2026 FIFA World Cup beyond the 90 minutes that a match lasts. All thanks to exclusive content and unprecedented access for creators. (...) We are connecting with the next generation of football fans, especially women and young people, and converting that passion in unprecedented participation and interaction.”
