Netflix - Cesc Gay - 53 domingos

Cesc Gay signs the direction and script of the film adaptation '53 Sundays', a play created by the filmmaker himself that will reach Netflix in March with the production of Imposible Films.

Starring by Javier Cámara, Carmen Machi, Javier Gutiérrez y Alexandra Jimenez, the film is a comedy-drama that tells the story of three brothers who meet to decide what to do with their 86-year-old father, who has begun to exhibit strange behavior. "Take him to a nursing home? Have him go live with one of them? What begins as a polite family reunion will become a situation as funny as it is unexpected that will get out of control," explains the synopsis of the film.

In the words of Cesc Gay (My friend Eva, Sentimental, Truman): "I have always had the great luck of working with actors and actresses who have made my work better. Comedy is the most difficult genre, but from the first rehearsals my fears disappeared when I heard Javier Cámara, Carmen Machi, Javier Gutiérrez and Alexandra Jimenez read the script. During those breakfasts in my apartment in Madrid we talked, discussed, rehearsed, laughed and, between the five of us, we gave shape to this comedy that the public will soon be able to enjoy in their homes."

The film is produced by Imposible Films and has Marta Esteban and Laia Bosch as executive producers. 53 Sundays It was filmed at the Netflix Production Center in Tres Cantos, as well as in several locations in the center of Madrid.
