Appear and LTN join forces to lead the transition from satellite to IP

Appear X - LTN

X, the high-performance, ultra-low latency platform from Appear, is combined with the IP network of LTN with the objective of promoting the consolidation of IP in contribution and distribution workflows.

LTN y Appear they propose a infrastructure model specially designed for mission-critical sporting events and live broadcasts, through which clients obtain operational transparency in real time, proactive network management and service guarantee. Also compatible with on-site production models, REMI workflows, centralized production models and hybrid OTT distribution, the objective of the alliance is “reduce operational complexity” while “speeds up broadcast time”.

In this proposal, Appear's X platform provides encoding and decoding High-density workflow-friendly JPEG XS, JPEG 2000, AVC, HEVC y ST 2110. Integrated directly into the red troncal IP de LTN, the signals originated by Appear are transport safely and redundantly to any destination in the world.

Beyond the contribution, LTN extends those signals to global distribution, adding point-to-multipoint delivery, conditional access, rights management, multilingual versions, graphics insertion and metadata enrichment to boost monetization in linear, OTT and FAST platforms.
