Apple - MotionVFX

Apple acquire MotionVFX, a Polish company founded in 2009 by Szymon Masiak based in Warsaw and known worldwide for its visual effects templates, plugins and motion graphics tools aimed primarily at Final Cut Pro, Motion and DaVinci Resolve users.

Although Apple has not revealed the amount of the operation, it has confirmed that will maintain 70 jobs of the Polish company. MotionVFX has been building design tools for video editors. Its value proposition was always clear: offer professional visual quality with a much lower learning curve than native tools like Motion, Apple's effects app.

Its catalog includes transitions, animated titles, cinematic effects and motion graphics templates, all integrated directly within Final Cut Pro, without the need to open external applications. This combination of accessibility and power made it a favorite tool for independent creators, production companies and multimedia content startups around the world.

The acquisition comes at a time when Apple is betting big on its creative platform. The company has already integrated its professional audio and video tools within the Apple Creator Studio. Now, with MotionVFX, more frequent and in-depth updates to Final Cut Pro are expected, including possible improvements for its version on iPad.

With MotionVFX integrated into Final Cut Pro, Apple raises challenge Adobe Premiere Pro and Creative Cloud, approaching a space of professional creative software that for decades dominated Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop and dozens of integrated tools.

One of the doubts for those who already pay for a MotionVFX subscription is whether the service will continue to be available, especially for users of Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve. For now, Apple has not wanted to comment on the future of the marketing of these services.
