Movistar Plus+ is restructured to adapt to the new platform game board
In order to respond to the “new reality of the audiovisual market”, Movistar Plus+ integrates the rights purchasing function (Film, Series, Sports...) and the management of its Global Partners area in the Business and Sports Management Department led by Enric Rojas, aligning the organizational model with “the reality of the market.”
As part of this restructuring, the division Alliances Directorate, led by Ismael Calleja, goes to Business Management, reporting directly to Enric Rojas, who will also continue to maintain his responsibilities at the head of the sports management. The editorial decision of cinema and series, which determines what content is purchased, will continue to correspond to the Fiction direction led by Jorge Pezzi.
This movement responds to a renewed industry in which the great international partners, like Amazon, Apple, DAZN, Disney, NBCUniversal/Comcast, Netflix, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures o WBD Warner Bros.Discovery, operate as players multiproducto, with which Movistar Plus+ negotiates jointly fiction content, OTT agreements and sports rights.
“Moving towards an integrated model allows us to strengthen our strategic position and maximize our negotiation capacity,” they emphasize from the platform.
