Nimbra Edge: Net Insight's control and coordination layer returns to NAB 2026 with new features
Net Insight is set to demonstrate Nimbra Edge's ability to manage live, multi-domain broadcast services in demanding broadcast environments during NAB 2026 (April 19 – 22, Las Vegas).
In a context in which the broadcasters and service providers increasingly manage live feeds and venues, often through unmanaged networks, cloud platforms and shared responsibility models where traditional device-level control and manual operations are no longer scalable, Net Insight presents the latest evolution of Nimbra Edge.
Designed as a open layer, standards-based and modular, Nimbra Edge arrives for transform highly complex, multi-domain live environments in controlled and repeatable services through automation and the service level orchestration, allowing operators to scale operations with confidence instead of managing increasing complexity. This automation reduces the dependency on manual configuration, as well as maintaining consistency in service delivery, even when network conditions and responsibilities vary.
As a result, Net Insight points out, reduce operational incidents during peak activity events and prevent failures through proactive system-level monitoring rather than reactive troubleshooting. Steve MacMurray, director of digital media development at Globecast, transfers his experience with the solution that will be detailed in depth in NAB 2026: "With Nimbra Edge, we can manage broadcasts at the service level, enabling faster deployment and scalability of live media workflows, while maintaining the reliability our customers expect. It strengthens our operational control over hybrid IP and satellite networks and is compatible with the Globecast Content Exchange platform to seamlessly deliver the highest quality, flexible and resilient distribution, essential for modern live events."
