Fox redesigns its AI strategy with AWS as its axis
Con Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a new cloud service provider for AI, Fox will continue to focus on bringing the benefits of artificial intelligence transversally throughout its organization, providing new approaches to innovation processes, operational efficiency and multimedia experiences.
Fox will take advantage of the cloud capabilities of AWS especially on its direct-to-consumer platform Fox One. To do this, it will deploy services such as AWS Elemental MediaLive, MediaPackage y MediaTailor with AI/ML services, including AWS Elemental Inference, in order to offer “smarter and more engaging” viewing experiences.
Technologies will not only allow scalability in operations THERE but Fox, but will also support different “AI-driven innovations,” including content enrichment processes, highlight generation and personalized discovery across its news, sports and entertainment portfolio. AWS – FOX: a collaboration in pursuit of innovation
The arrival of technology cloud for AI applications to Fox marks a key milestone in the long working relationship between both companies. From 2022, FOX y AWS have collaborated to continually improve the viewer experience across all platforms, driving engagement through innovative AI-powered features.
In 2022, Fox released Catch Up With Highlights during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, using Amazon Media Replay Engine to publish independently 731 videos summary of 61 parties, a feature that has since been expanded to other live events. In 2023, FOX updated its streaming infrastructure to offer 4K resolution with HDR color and a latency of less than one second.
That same year, Fox introduced its expanded AI and data platform at the AWS Summit NY, taking advantage Amazon SageMaker, Amazon Personalize, Amazon Bedrock y Amazon Titan to serve more than 300 million active users per month. More recently, FOX has implemented AWS Elemental Inference to automatically reformat 16:9 live sports broadcasts to vertical formats for social platforms, enabling large-scale distribution in near real-time.
Samira Bakhtiar's arrow, general director of media and entertainment, games and sports of Amazon Web Services, states that the company is “proud” to expand its relationship with FOX “at such a crucial time for the media and entertainment sector.” “By combining the coveted content and reach of FOX with the cloud and generative AI capabilities of AWS, we are enabling new ways to create, distribute and monetize content at scale,” he noted.
