Leitz Cine expands Hektor's visual language with Fujifilm G-mount

A new interchangeable G-mount compatible with Hektor models opens the door to new implementations of the lens family. Leitz Cine in the family of digital cinema cameras Fujifilm.

The launch of Leitz Cine opens the door to the use of its Hektor lenses with cinema cameras extra large format like the new GFX Eterna 55 from Fujifilm. Likewise, the lenses become compatible with the series GFX100 of mirrorless digital cameras.

From now on, the lenses can be purchased with the G mount, although those who already own this range will be able to purchase the adapter separately. Changing mounts on Hektor lenses is “relatively quick and easy with just a few tools”, clarifies Leitz herself.

Although initially designed to cover the entire format, Leitz explains Hektor lenses create a much larger image circle. “And although not all focal lengths can be used in mode open gate of the full sensor, they do support traditional cinematic aspect ratios, requiring only a small crop at the edges at the widest focal lengths,” explains Leitz.

Rainer Hercher, general director of Leitz, reaffirms his commitment to continue supporting different camera formats and systems: “As camera formats and systems continue to evolve, we are happy to collaborate with so many manufacturers to ensure that the creatives who use their cameras have access to some of the most exciting new lenses, such as the Leitz Hektor series.” Beyond the G mount, the Hektor adapts to environments Sony E, Leica L, Canon RF, and Nikon Z.
