Lumine Group strengthens its presence in the audiovisual industry with the acquisition of Imagine Communications
Lumine Group acquires Imagine Communications, one of the long-standing technology providers to the broadcast industry, in a deal that significantly expands its presence in the media software and infrastructure market.
Although the financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed, Lumine has confirmed that Imagine will continue to operate as an independent business within its decentralised organisational model. Headquartered in the United States, Imagine Communications provides video connectivity solutions, continuity systems, broadcast infrastructure and AI-powered advertising management and monetisation platforms. Its technologies are used by television networks, cable operators, OTT platforms and sports networks worldwide.
The acquisition of Imagine enables Lumine to strengthen its growth strategy across the entire audiovisual media value chain. Specifically, the deal adds new continuity and broadcast capabilities to its video processing portfolio, whilst expanding its offering in the field of television monetisation thanks to solutions such as Landmark Sales, Imagine’s AI-based commercial management and advertising sales platform.
Tony García, Chief Operating Officer of Lumine Group, acknowledges that this transaction “is a significant addition to Lumine’s growing media ecosystem”, and emphasises that the group will maintain its long-term acquisition philosophy (buy-and-hold forever), providing stability for Imagine to continue developing its technology and supporting its international customer base.
For his part, Steve Reynolds, Chief Executive of Imagine Communications, states that the integration will enable the company to continue innovating with a stable structure and a long-term vision, whilst maintaining its operational autonomy within the Canadian group.
The acquisition comes at a time of intense activity for Lumine Group in the communications and media technology sector. In recent months, the company has completed other significant transactions, such as the purchase of Synamedia’s Video Network business and various strategic acquisitions aimed at expanding its ecosystem of specialised software for operators, broadcasters and audiovisual service providers.
For Imagine Communications, the deal marks a new chapter in its history. The company, which strengthened its offering in 2025 with the acquisition of Pixel Power, now becomes part of a group specialising in the acquisition and development of vertical software companies, whilst maintaining the continuity of its operations and its technology roadmap for the linear television, streaming and audiovisual advertising markets.
Who is Lumine Group?
Lumine Group is a Canadian company specialising in the acquisition and development of software companies for the telecommunications, media and network technologies sectors. Spun off from Constellation Software in 2023 and listed on the TSX Venture Exchange, the company follows a growth model based on acquiring established companies with a long-term perspective, maintaining their operational independence and supporting their development through investment and strategic resources.
With an international presence, Lumine has built up a broad ecosystem of technology companies that develop solutions for telecoms operators, broadcasters, OTT platforms and digital service providers. Its portfolio ranges from OSS/BSS software and network management to technologies for video processing, broadcast continuity, television advertising, IP infrastructure and content distribution.
The acquisition of Imagine Communications represents a strategic step in strengthening its media division, by bringing on board one of the companies with the longest track record in broadcast infrastructure, channel automation and advertising monetisation. Through this transaction, Lumine reinforces its position as one of the leading consolidators in the global market for specialised software for the audiovisual industry, pursuing a strategy focused on sustainable growth and the development of the companies it acquires, rather than on their integration or subsequent sale.
