Mediapro cierra un contrato millonario con Snell&Wilcox

The order includes more than thirty Alchemist Ph.C-HD, several Quasar systems and several Kahuna tables intended for high definition production.

Snell & Wilcox ha resultado adjudicataria de una de las instalaciones en alta definición más complejas y extensas de toda Europa, el Canal GolTV. Para cubrir la Liga en HD, Mediapro ha puesto en marcha un nuevo centro de producción y playout en el que han integrado dieciocho convertidores Snell & Wilcox Alchemist Ph.C – HD utilizados para ofrecer simultáneamente señal en varios formatos, entre ellos 1080i a 50 Hz para transmisión. Junto a los Alchemist trabajan quince upconverters Quasar Ph.C que convierten señales SD a HD optimizando al máximo la señal ofrecida. Para la realización de las retransmisiones, MediaPro ha adquirido a Snell & Wilcox tres mesas multiformato SD/HD Kahuna capaces de mezclar simultáneamente señales en definición estándar y alta.

Israel Esteban, technical director of Unitecnic, a subsidiary of Mediapro in charge of this installation, has pointed out that both the Alchemist Ph.C – HD, Quasar Ph.C, and Kahuna systems “are considered a first-rate standard in the industry, having offered us the flexibility we demanded to receive, produce and generate any signal in any format, regardless of the fact that our production requirements may change from one moment to the next depending on the circumstance.” “Our complex installation would not have been possible without the IQ modular infrastructure that integrates control, monitoring, routing and distribution, audio and video signal processing and analog-digital conversion,” added Esteban.

Mediapro lleva tres años apostando por la infraestructura modular IQ de Snell & Wilcox compuesta por más de 300 componentes que se adaptan a cualquier necesidad de emisión.
