HDNA: high definition in Sony's DNA
The Japanese multinational has presented its new line of XDCAM HD solutions at NAB, which includes the new PDW-700, PDW-800 and PDW-F800 camcorders.

Under the slogan “3DNS: the third dimension is in our DNA” Sony continues to demonstrate that it has a solution for any need and budget. In Las Vegas it has shown a very complete range of high definition solutions. From the now classic CineAlta F23 and F35 to the XDCAM HD422 and HDCAM camcorders, and the HDC 1500, 1000, 1550, 1400 and 1450 series, with proposals for both ENG and EFP. Coinciding with NAB'09, Sony has announced historic sales of XDCAM and

Sony SRW-9000
The HDCAM SR is now, if possible, even more reinforced with the launch of the new SRW-9000 camcorder, the ideal complement for high-level production with the F23 and F35. With an optical block similar to the F23, three 2/3-inch Full HD CCD sensors, processed in 1080/60p mode, and 14-bit A/D conversion, the new camera recorder allows you to work in 4:2:2 10 bit at 1080/23.98p, 24p, 25p, 29.97p and 1080/50i/59.94i or in 4:2:2 at 1080/50P/59.94p. One aspect to highlight is that the body of the new SRW-9000 is identical to that of the HDW-F900, so it is possible to use all the accessories initially planned for it, such as the HDVF-C30WR viewfinder.
The XDCAM HD 422 family, where the PDW-700 camcorder has been positioned as the leading product with sales in continuous increase, will be reinforced this year with the new PDW-F800 CineAlta camcorder, the PDW-HR1 portable recorder and the PDW-F1600 CineAlta desktop. It should also be noted that the new PDW-F800, together with the PDW-F1600 deck, will strengthen the use of the MPEG HD422 codec, being able to work at native 1080 at 23.98p, 1080i and 70p or record in MPEG IMX, DVCAM and HD 4:2:0.

HSC-300 and HXC-100 camcorders, and MVS-600 table
In terms of studio, the main novelty from Sony is the new HSC-300 HD camera, successor in a way to the legendary HDC-1500R, the new MVS-6000 mixer (for medium studios), the small BRS-2000 HD mixing console and a curious system for MVS mixers called ELC-MVS01 that allows you to control both associated external devices and automated sequences live.
In field recorders, the proposals include the PVM-L2300, the PDW-HR1 and the PDW-F160 XDCAM HD422. One of the new features at this NAB'09 has been the HVR-MC1K, a complete system for capturing content at 1920×1080/50i. Aiming at an affordable price range, Sony has also shown the HSC-300 and HSC-100 camcorders, with 2.2 million pixels and a resolution of 1920x1080 and the possibility of Triax Digital.
In monitoring, Sony has expanded its Trimaster LCD range with the new PVM-L2300. While in studio solutions, the new BRS-200 mixer and the MVS 6000 stand out, thus expanding the line of MVS 8000G and GSF production mixers.
