Vegas Pro Production Assistant, ultra-fast editing

New tool for Sony Vegas Pro NLE software automates production processes to speed up deliveries.

Sony Creative Software has announced Production Assistant, a very special plugin for Vegas Pro software. The new brand of video and audio editing software tool, announced separately today, takes advantage of powerful scripting capabilities to automate repetitive production processes and help editors meet tight job schedules faster than ever. Vegas Pro Production Assistant also works with Vegas Pro 8.

Thanks to this plugin it will be possible, for example, to create SD 4:3 clips with HD16:9, outputting traditional formats in SD and HD, web, DVD and Blu-ray discs, to portable devices such as mobile phones, media players and the Sony PSP. The Vegas Pro Production Assistant plug-in thus allows you to output multiple delivery platforms very quickly, regardless of the original aspect ratio and resolution.

Developed jointly with VASST, the developers of Sony Vegas Pro software and training tools, the Vegas Pro Production Assistant software plug-in features an easy-to-use interface with three labels: Input, Process and Output. A pre-built output is included that pre-programs broadcast workflows to quickly begin finishing content for television. Other broadcast features include tools to create smaller thirds, split stereo tracks into two mono tracks, normalize audio tracks, transmit color processing, audio reduction functions, and output multiple formats at once. In addition, it allows you to automate the movement of clips across the entire screen with moving backgrounds, generate animated lower thirds automatically with full control over place and time, streamline tasks such as normalization, stereo split to mono, crossfade creation, reduce and archive audio, adjust playback rhythm, generate image sequences, reduce interlace flicker, convert to wide screen, output color correction and many others.
