Canarias Radio with AEQ technology
After the installation of the Las Palmas center, the Canarian regional radio station once again trusts in AEQ for the new production center in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
The new production center in the Tenerife capital of Canarias Radio has been configured around a BC-2000 D system from AEQ. As already happened with the center of Las Palmas, the headquarters of the Canarian public radio in Santa Cruz commissioned a turnkey project from AEQ. Both centers are practically a copy and each include two studios (control and call room), a self-control, two booths and an unattended central control.
Technically, the entire installation is built on AEQ's BC-2000 D technology, currently available in commercial equipment as diverse as digital consoles, audio routers and communications multiplexers, due to the guarantees of quality and reliability they provide, and the possibilities for future growth they offer. The mixers selected in the studies are the AEQ Arena interconnected with the AEQ BC-2000 D Router matrix. Thanks to the flexibility of the system, the two controls have been configured so that each one is capable of serving two booths simultaneously or just one with the push of a button. Control surfaces 1 and 2 have 25 faders (2 Arena D10 and 1 Arena DM).
The self-control has a surface of 15 faders and in the booths 5 faders. All input/output devices of the BC-2000 D system are housed in the rack room (central control) next to the AEQ BC-2000 D Router matrix. The control interconnection between frame and control surface is carried out over IP networks, which greatly simplifies the installation. External communications for all studies are carried out with AEQ's Systel 6000 system. For its operation, touch terminals and interfaces for audio and intercommunication, AEQ Systelset, are used, which together with its extremely friendly graphic interface (large buttons, bright colors...) simplify use for non-technical users. Additionally, a production station with its corresponding terminal has been installed in the main control.
Regarding the automation system, Canarias Radio has opted for Mar4Suite PRO, an evolved version of the popular Mar4Win. Its configuration includes five servers in the equipment room, five broadcast positions in the studios associated with the mixing consoles and six writing positions for the journalists' work. The system allows the reception of news, text editing with embedded audio, audio editing and fragmentation, continuity recording for legal copy and of course the most reliable broadcast and automation on the market.
