Christie expands Mirage series
With the launch of four new active stereo 3D projectors that offer more pixels with native WUXGA resolution of 1920 x 1200 and brightness options of 3,000, 6,600, 12,000 and 18,000 ANSI lumens.

Christie, on the occasion of its presence at the Industry Virtual Reality Expo (IVR) in Japan, the largest fair in the world focused on the entire virtual reality industry, has made public its new Christie Mirage WU series, an expansion of the proven Mirage series of active 3-chip DLP stereo 3D projectors. Composed of four new projectors (Christie Mirage WU3, WU7, WU12 and WU18) it offers more pixels, with native WUXGA resolution of 1920 x 1200 and brightness options of 3,000, 6,600, 12,000 and 18,000 ANSI lumens.
According to Christie, this new series is the only cost-effective purpose-built 3D stereoscopic projectors with a 16:10 aspect ratio, resulting in greater viewing flexibility. The projectors offer built-in edge casting and Christie Light Output Control (LITELOC) for constant brightness maintenance and lamp output monitoring. They also offer Comprehensive Color Adjustment (CCA), which allows adjustment of the current RGB channels on each individual projector for consistent color matching in multi-screen applications. The optional Christie Twist internal image warping module allows projection on virtually any screen or surface.
Another feature of this new series, according to the manufacturer, is its exceptionally low maintenance, and its compatibility with the widest range of stereo and non-stereo sources, making it a perfect solution for stable and highly reliable multi-screen projection solutions. Thanks to its unique image processing technology, the Christie Mirage WU series uses much less computing power and works with virtually any graphics processing unit (GPU), offering up to 120Hz output from up to 60Hz inputs, standard, DVI-D single link or analog.
The projectors are complemented by the new Christie Spyder X20 video processor, which is ideal for visual environment applications. The Spyder X20 is capable of up to 20 MPX of high resolution bandwidth, regardless of image type, and meets the most demanding multi-window, multi-image processing requirements. Allows rotation of images from any output source to project in landscape or portrait orientation. Combined with the increased resolution of the Christie Mirage WU series, the results include superior functionality and greater flexibility in large-scale display applications. Additionally, the Spyder X20's stereoscopic SSO option can provide seamless and flexible displays in a combined 2D – 3D imaging environment.
