India's 24-hour news channel, with years of experience in Profile servers, renews its trust in the manufacturer by improving its digital workflow with K2 servers and Aurora stations.

The all-news news channel TV9, based in Hyderabab (India), has renewed the trust it had been placing in Grass Valley since 2004 with its Profile servers. Now, TV9 has begun a process of renewing its entire file-based media management, integrating the brand's K2 with support for editing and broadcast functions. The channel, associated with India's Associated Broadcasting (ABC), has opted for the use of Aurora editing stations with a total of ten positions for journalists with editing and titled capabilities. Two other Aurora Edit stations will be dedicated exclusively to the editing room to provide more advanced services such as 3D DVE effects or color correction.

All editing stations share media through K2 servers with RAID storage. Once the pieces have been edited, they are sent directly to the K2 (main and backup) for broadcast, controlling and managing all the material through the workflow established by the Grass Valley App Center, with simple Windows-based software running on any PC.

A Kayak mixer has been installed in the studio, while for some spaces they are carried out using an Indigo mixer.

Thanks to Grass Valley technology, the news network has managed to renovate its facilities, creating a much faster and more flexible workflow based on industry standards and a Gigabit Ethernet network, with the consequent cost savings.

Jeff Rosica, senior vice president of Grass Valley, highlighted that "TV9 in Hyderabad is a great example of the great importance that information has on television today. Their work scheme is overwhelming in order to obtain and launch news on the air, meeting the expectations of their audience. We are pleased with the supply of their original technology platform, glad that they have trusted us again when it comes to updating their technology with the new servers and connectivity environments. We hope to continue working with ABC and its associated stations in the future."
