DIVAsolo, a Front Porch solution for deep filing
Front Porch Digital will present at IBC’09 DIVAsolo, an all-in-one solution for migrating tape archives to high-density tape deep archive environments.
The North American Front Porch will show in action during IBC DIVAsolo, its low-cost proposal for preservation, management and reformatting of content. It is an all-in-one solution that will help broadcasters migrate their tape archives to high-density tape-based systems. This solution combines four technologies. On the one hand, SAMMASolo, which carries out large-scale processing of video tapes in real time in multiple formats (MXF, JPEG2000, MPEG-2, QuickTime, H.264 (MPEG-4), Flash, MPEG-1, AVC, Windows Media, and Real Media, among others); DIVAworks, which combines an LTO4 with a Front Porch database; DIVArchive, for digital archive storage and security management, and DIVAdirector, which enables metadata management and intuitive searching, proxy browsing, and desktop user management of stored digital content.
DIVAsolo allows content owners to free themselves from the headaches associated with video tapes and introduces management infrastructure that preserves the core file of assets and makes them easily accessible by repurposing them. At IBC2009, Front Porch Digital will announce Unicode support for the entire SAMMA family of products, including SAMMA Solo. This system is capable of converting even the largest video tape files to digital files. With Unicode support, SAMMA will offer support in the local language of any country in the world.
Among the improvements that DIVArchive brings is content storage management (CSM) as well as direct integration with Final Cut Pro and Final Cut Studio.
