New Zaxcom solutions at IBC'09
Zaxcom, specialized in audio solutions for television and cinema, will present new audio link solutions in Amsterdam.
Among the new features that Zaxcom will show at its IBC'09 stand is Zax-Net, a 2.4 GHz RF link to distribute remote control signals, timecode, IFB audio and metadata for sound production. The Zax-Net signal is generated via the Deva/Fusion link with IFB100 encryption at 2.4 GHz. IFB audio, timecode, metadata and remote control commands are received by the ERX1, ERX2 and TRX wireless digital units. These bodypack receivers have an LCD display to show the time code and the main scene and shot metadata. In addition, the ERX2 has a timecode generator and reader with continuous output that guarantees a continuous timecode between the Deva/Fusion and the control panel.
Another solution to keep an eye on is the QRX100, a four-channel RF link. First introduced at NAB'09, this solution takes advantage of today's cameras' ability to record four or more discrete audio channels, so the QRX100 can receive them and send them to two mono or stereo digital transmitters. The QRX100 then outputs these received audio channels, both analog and digital and AES formats with the same quality and robustness as if they were transmitted over cable. This allows broadcasters to record four channels of ENG cameras quickly and easily. The QRX100 can function as a timecode receiver, with optional SMPTE synchronized output and an optional IFB transmitter.
Also making its IBC debut is the friendly TRX992, a professional wireless audio transceiver designed specifically for sports applications. Within a single compact unit, the TRX992 performs the functions of an audio transmitter, monitoring the receiver return, recording backup, with phantom power. Finally, we also highlight the Mix-8 control panel, designed for integration with the Deva system and the Fusion high-resolution recording system.
