Quantel is coming to Broadcast IT this year to showcase its advanced solutions for post-production, news and sports. The new IP workflow commitment with QTube will stand out.

Quantel This year it attends Broadcast IT 2011 (stand 3B10) with the security provided by a system of proven solvency like Pablo, widely accepted in the market, its excellent position in the news and sports market with Enterprise sQ and the new commitment to workflow over IP with QTube.

Among other improvements, stereoscopy processes have been streamlined with GeoFix2 and the possibility of working in groups in MLTFX, DNxHD soft mount, has been included, in addition to providing OpenEXR support and being able to work with more than 4GB of avi files.

Pablo PA is now reinforced with CUDA increasing interativity, support for S3D playback with full frame monitor output, integration with Genetic (which allows easy sharing of clips and publishing results with GenePool), thus facilitating complete file-based stereoscopic shaping.

Enterprise sQ

As for Enterprise sQ, this system enjoys an excellent position in news and sports production as a result of its continuous development. For example, the incorporation of Filespeed technology now makes it possible to reduce costs, increase performance and enrich file-based environments. Also noteworthy is a new software component using the SOA architecture, as well as the possibility of implementing a faster workflow with In addition to support for Nvidia Quadro cards and the new sQ Play LiveTouch option that is currently being beta tested at Fox Sport LA, and which facilitates playout and highlights in live sports.

QTube

Another of the hot spots at the Quantel stand will be found in QTube, its IP workflow proposal.

Initially designed for news and sports, QTube also has a strong application in remote production of programs and even in post-production and remote contribution, opening up endless areas of work.

The main advantage of QTube is having a global and delocalized workflow that allows editing from anywhere (with the only requirement of having Internet access) of both recorded material and media that is being ingested live at that same moment. And QTube manages to continue ingesting material without having to close the file being worked on, acting if desired on the live material.

Another key advantage of the system is that it works with frame precision, a fundamental aspect in certain applications that require speed or high precision such as in post-production. When an edition is finished, the finished piece or note is ready for broadcast from anywhere.

On the other hand, it is possible to add local content and at the same time mix this material with what was previously hosted on any remote or central server. A journalist could thus record a news story locally and edit it using the material on the servers of the headquarters or an agency... even if they are on the opposite side of the world.

QTube removes the geographic limits of when and where we can create content, allowing us to cover breaking news and sporting events in a way we couldn't even imagine until now. QTube provides great access and interconnection capacity for sQ systems through economical and easily accessible network connectivity.
