Audiovisual Basque at MIPCOM’09
Some of the main Basque production companies will be at the MIPCOM in Cannes next October, for the third consecutive year grouped under the Basque Audiovisual brand.

Although the presence of Basque companies in the Audiovisual Sector in the main markets and international fairs has been a constant for several decades, Eiken-Cluster Audiovisual of Euskadi proposed to intensify its role, promoting the joint participation of Audiovisual companies grouped as Basque Audiovisual. After having already been present at several international events, this brand has been consolidated and enjoys recognition as a hallmark of the audiovisual product made in Euskadi and also represents the collaboration capacity of companies, in order to achieve common objectives for the sector.
On this occasion, the Basque delegation is currently made up of 3Koma, Baleuko, Expressive, Flying Apple, MediaBost, Pausoka, Retelsat, Western Films, Somuga, Audiovisual 21, K 2000, Moztu Filmak and Donostia Films. Itziar Mena, director of Eiken, commented that "in these times of crisis our effort is focused, precisely, on reinforcing support for the internationalization of companies as one of the ways to face this situation of uncertainty."
Basque Audiovisual will occupy a 39 square meter stand at the Palais des Festivals, shared with the Galician Audiovisual Cluster, in order to take advantage of the opportunities derived from this intercluster collaboration. As in the last edition of MIPTV, the Basque Audiovisual exhibition venue will be equipped with audiovisual technology to promote the exhibition of companies' products. It is a large-format touch screen through which professionals will have all the available information at their fingertips.
The Basque Audiovisual brand also has an online commercial catalog through Internet, an effective tool when establishing prior contacts and setting up work meetings with potential clients and collaborators during the course of the fair. Precisely, during the month of September a promotional campaign can be launched through the Internet, sending a presentation mailing to thousands of contacts directly linked to the audiovisual sector around the world. In this way, the aim is to promote access to the online catalog of Basque Audiovisual, where the contact information and presentations of each of the companies and their work are available.
