Orad and Vinten Radamec have teamed up to provide an integrated solution combining the ProSet HD/SD virtual studio solution, the new FP188VR robot pedestal and the Fusion FHR120VR robot head.

vintenOrad and Vinten Radamec, a subsidiary of the Vitec group, will collaborate to provide an integrated virtual studio solution by combining Orad's ProSet HD/SD solution with Vinten's new FP188VR robotic pedestal. This pedestal supplies real-time precision tracking data to Orad's ProSet virtual studio application, which renders virtual studio graphics. Tracking data includes X/Y positioning and height data, as well as pan, tilt, zoom and focus parameters, allowing free movement of the camera within the studio space and offering maximum production flexibility.

The integrated solution offers an unbeatable ROI and with a single operator all cameras can be operated. Furthermore, the same physical space can be used for different productions.

The new version of ProSet raises the bar on photorealism with a wide range of real-time shaders and unbeatable rendering capabilities. ProSet also offers a particle library, and allows presenters to interact and trigger graphic elements from within the virtual environment.

Vinten Radamec's virtual reality interface is designed for high precision and easy integration. The FHR120VR provides extremely accurate data with one million counts per revolution for pan and tilt. An absolute referencing option for pedestals will soon be offered in addition to the current high-precision positioning system, further improving performance in VR applications.

Avi Sharir, CEO and president of Orad Hi-Tec Systems, commented that “this integration will provide broadcasters the flexibility to choose their preferred tracking technology when they place their trust in Orad's award-winning virtual studio.”

For his part, Alan Platt, Director of Robotics at Viten Radamec, added that "virtual reality will continue to grow in the broadcast market, and it is important that users can choose the hardware and software that best fits their creative requirements. We hope to be able to supply robotic solutions that fit their requirements whatever their choice, and this is why we are delighted to be able to work with Orad on this demonstration at IBC."
