Vinten Radamec supplies Sky Italia with three Fusion FP188 robotic pedestals with FH100 heads for its new studio in Rome.

Serie FP VintenThe new fully robotic studio B that Sky Italia has just inaugurated has extensive equipment from Viunten Radamec, a subsidiary of Vitec Group. The new study highlights three Fusion FP188 robotic pedestals with FH100 heads. One of the advantages of these pedestals is that they can be very quickly configured for manual use as if it were a normal pedestal. As for the FH100 heads, in addition to allowing all types of pan-tilt movements, they can work with an axis camera location system for virtual applications, including connection for remote zoom and focus.

From this studio Sky will produce a large part of the programming for its twenty-four-hour news channel, with all robotics being able to be controlled by a single operator from a virtual set or by several in the case of the production of complex programs such as election coverage.

Studio B in Rome adds to the capabilities for SkyTg24, Sky Italia’s 24-hour rolling news channel. Located in a building away from the news production center, it provides resilience to the service as well as adding capacity. For coverage of major news events, such as national elections, Studio B can be linked to the robotic camera system of the main newsroom, allowing the two to work as a single virtual studio by one operator.
