Vinten is committed to precision with the new range of Osprey pedestals

For both studios and productions from mobile units, Vinten It debuts its new series of Osprey pedestals in its space at NAB 2022, a two-stage range designed so that camera operators can move effortlessly and precisely frame the image on screen.

The range consists of five models: Osprey Lite, Osprey Plus, Osprey Plus S, Osprey Elite S y Osprey Studio S. Through consultation with studio and outdoor camera operators, Vinten has developed this two-stage pedestal with precise balance and effortless movement.

Cameras and prompters can be positioned with ease thanks to a range of wheel options, full crab and remote steering modes or the ability to operate on tracks, while multiple accessories allow a wide variety of heads to be attached. Osprey pedestals fold into two lightweight pieces for easy transport.

Reliability and comfort

Steve Turner, product director at Vinten, noted that "with Vinten's new Osprey range we can offer unrivaled reliability and durability. The smooth broadcast-quality movement allows for creative and attractive shots in all eye lines so that viewers feel 'as if they were there' for a perfect live or fake live experience."

Los anthropomorphic studies carried out by Vinten engineers were used to define the height range of the pedestals and make them comfortable for operators. When combined with Vinten's prompter mounting hardware and fluid heads, the in-plane path of the pedestals can match the on-screen presenters' line of sight from the lowest to the highest height percentile, or from sitting to standing. The pedestals are carefully balanced to compensate for the effect of gravity, with controls placed to reduce stress on the body when operating for long periods of time.

The Osprey series supports a capacity of load ranging from 35 to 80 kilos, depending on the model.
