After having been presented at IBC and NAB, BIT Broadcast 2014 arrives from the hand of Video Cine Import the new ARRI Amira camera. A versatile documentary-style camera that combines exceptional image quality and CFast 2.0 workflow at an affordable cost with an ergonomic design optimized for single-operator use and shoulder-mounted operation. Ready to shoot right out of the bag, AMIRA is robust enough to take anywhere and features pre-loaded looks based on 3D LUTs, as well as slow motion up to 200fps.
Throughout its long history, ARRI has offered creators of film and audiovisual projects a diverse range of cameras targeting different types of production. Something common in all models has been to guarantee creative freedom through a functional and easy-to-use design. Amira represents the integral continuation of this tradition. It will be available alongside other ARRI camera options, perfectly responding to the needs of some professionals and types of production.
Amira records Rec 709 or Log C images using ProRes LT, 422, 422HQ or 444 codecs. By recording to the camera's built-in CFast 2.0 flash memory cards with super-fast data rates, the route to post-production is made as seamless as possible. CFast 2.0 is an open format that is easily accessible to everyone and offers exceptional price-performance ratio through incredible transfer speeds, long recording times and compatibility with standard IT tools. Costs per GB are reduced and image quality is superior to broadcast standards even with low-budget productions.
Agilidad y ergonomía
Amira starts up quickly and can be used right out of the bag by a single user, without the need for configuration, without wiring and without wasting time. In the short time it takes to raise the camera to the operator's shoulder it is ready to film, making the Amira a perfect device for “running and filming” footage when the action is unpredictable and must be sprung into action immediately. Built-in motorized ND filters, plus false color and zebra tools help control exposure, while an advanced peaking function makes focusing precise and smooth.
Access to configurable user switches and buttons is quick and intuitive. An innovative multi-viewfinder makes life easier for a single user by combining a high-resolution OLED viewfinder with a foldable LCD monitor that displays live images when the viewfinder is not in use, as well as providing full access to camera functions, without having to remove the AMIRA from your shoulder. Flexible multi-channel audio options are accessible from the right side of the camera, again minimizing disruption to the operator.
Alternatively, productions can custom build their own 3D LUTs on external color correction systems, load them into the camera during equipment pre-check, and even modify them in-camera during filming. With 3D LUTs, literally any look you can imagine can be created, giving directors and cinematographers a greater degree of creative control over productions, while keeping post-production costs under control for producers.
Like all ARRI products, Amira has been designed to be a safe long-term investment, as well as being built to withstand all the rigors of life on a professional set. With a solid internal skeleton that guarantees the stability of the camera and lens, this camera is presented as a very durable product built with the strongest and most resistant materials possible. Sealed electronics provide superior protection against moisture and dust, while the integrated thermal core provides highly efficient cooling.
