AR/VR on set

The project culminates with the installation and commissioning of 2 StarTracker camera tracking systems from Mon-Sys for AR/VR optical sensing.

Aragón TV SetThe system is based on a constellation of “stars” (retroreflective stickers) fixed to the ceiling of the set. A small LED sensor, mounted on the camera, illuminates the stars defining the star map, which allows the StarTracker to report the position and orientation of the camera in real time to the rendering engine. In this way, it guarantees unlimited freedom of movement and provides precise position, rotation and aim data in real time, making it ideal for Steadicam and handheld cameras.

While other systems typically have limited tracking volume, StarTracker can track surveys between 3m and 20m high. Because the camera's tracking sensor points upward instead of looking into the scene, tracking is not affected by studio conditions such as moving objects, set changes, lighting setups, reflections, and green screen environments...
