The latest version of its powerful composition application Nuke is now out.

Nuke 5.2, now with new pre-composition tools that facilitate the structuring of work and speed up the workflow by referencing external scripts, is now a reality for sale by The Foundry. Another new feature is direct support for metadata in the graphic node, the possibility of registering multiple process views, the Python script system, stereo workflow, performance improvements, bug fixes from the previous version, pre-comp, 3D LUTs with GPU and disk cache.

Nuke 5.2Additionally, Nuke 5.2 enables monitor previewing via Blackmagic Decklink, AJA Kona and Xena cards. It also introduces an R3D RED Redcode format reader that offers complete image information at 32 bit floating processing.

Richard Shackleton, Nuke product manager at The Foundry, commented: "We are continually working and listening to our customers to ensure we understand their needs, wants and priorities. Nuke 5.2 and our future development program will offer greater productivity in the workflow, as well as in the production and creative tasks that can be addressed within the platform. The Foundry already plans to release Nuke 6.0 and NukeX 6.0 later this year.
