VideoHouse installs the first MediorNet in Europe
The Belgian audiovisual services company installs eight frames of the Riedel fiber optic signal transport platform in two mobile units, for 16 and 20 cameras.
VideoHouse has become the first audiovisual services company in Europe to acquire the Riedel MediorNet fiber optic signal transport platform. This solution has been installed in two mobile units with 16 and 20 cameras that, thanks to the MediorNet network, can share video, audio, data and intercommunication. This platform provides not only point-to-point connections but also comprehensive fiber-optic signal transport for multi-channel HD/SD video, audio, communication and data. Each MediorNet unit has a router for 32x32 720p/1080i signals, 184x184 SD-SDI signals, 27,000x27,000 AES signals and any combination of these.
MediorNet offers an open network topology that supports ring, star, daisy models or their combinations, allowing users to custom design the system. It also offers Link Cards with and without CWDM multiplexers integrated into the MediorNet network, with a bandwidth of up to 153Gbit/s on a single fiber link. The MediorNet fiber link consists of a duplex fiber that allows bidirectional transport of signals. Its standard fiber optic transceivers have a minimum budget of 18db, which allows distances of up to 40 kilometers. The open structure of the software allows easy integration with future processing and conversion tools from Riedel or third-party manufacturers, eliminating the need for external devices.
In the case of VideoHouse, a total of 8 frames have been installed in its two new HD mobile units. The frames assign and distribute any input to any output or groups of outputs, the assignment being controlled from a VSM system.
