Alliance between Chellomedia and CBS launch six channels in the United Kingdom

North American CBS joins forces with Chellomedia in the United Kingdom in a join-venture that aims to launch six channels: Zone Romantica, Zone Thriller, Zone Horror, Zone Horror+1, Zone Reality and Zone Reality+1.

Chellomedia's channel portfolio in the United Kingdom has increased with six new channels thanks to a 50/50 joint venture agreement with the North American CBS. These channels are Zone Romantica, Zone Thriller, Zone Horror and Zone Reality, as well as the +1 versions of Zone Horror and Zone Reality. The agreement includes access for these channels to more than 70,000 hours of programming with such legendary series as Dinastóa or Star Trek as well as numerous Paramount productions.

Chellomedia's UK channels are distributed to more than 13 million homes via Sky, Virgin Media and Freesat.
The operation with CBS will be structured around Chello Zone, a subsidiary of Chellomedia and the international programming arm of Liberty Global, a company that acquired a majority stake of 87.5% in Zonevision in 2005. Chello subsequently purchased the remaining shares in the company in 2007.
