Until now, the two film screenings shown on the world's largest screens have taken place in Norway and Japan. In 1996, a 70 mm screening of the film Independence Day was held at the Oslo Spektrum stadium in Sweden on a 40.24 meter wide screen. And in 2008, Japan's Tokyo Dome stadium hosted the premiere of the movie Speed ​​Racer on a 37-meter-wide IMAX screen. However, Pinewood Studios intends to break the current world record with the outdoor screening of Mission Impossible this Saturday, November 7.

The projection will be carried out with two Christie Roadster HD18K three-chip DLP projectors offering 18,000 ANSI lumens and true HD resolution (1920 x 1080). The screening will be managed by the company QED Productions. Its director, Paul Wigfield, has admitted that "for QED it is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the latest projection technology from Christie, the world leader in digital cinema. Mission: Impossible is the perfect choice to break the current world record, and it will be viewed sensationally."

Filmed at Pinewood Studios, Mission Impossible was inspired by the popular spy television series, creating Brian De Palma one of the highest-grossing thrillers.
