Thomson facilitates access to Canal+ France VoD

Thomson begins to market in France a television with WiFi connection that allows direct access without any STB to Canalplay, Canal+'s video on demand service.

Thomson and Canal+ France have taken a new step in the concept of the television as a gateway to a large pool of media from which the viewer can select the content as they wish, watching it whenever they want.

Thomson has begun to market MywishTv in the French market, a television that gives direct access to Canal+'s Canalplay video-on-demand service. The user can view any of the available titles at the same time or store them in a flash memory with a capacity of 4GB. The television also includes an SD card slot so you can play files from it.

The Canalplay service makes some 7,000 productions available to the user, including 3,500 movies. A good number of these productions are already available in high definition (the television supports HD in MPEG-4).
To operate, the new MywishTv, which also integrates a DVB-T tuner for DTT, requires a WiFi connection and, logically, being up to date with the payment of the service fee.
