Canal+ France is not willing to lose footing in the race towards 3D, a field in which its competitor Orange TV is already carrying out technical tests, which is why it has formed a technical working group in order to launch a stereographic version of the pay channel before the end of the year.

Orange TV has been carrying out technical tests on stereography for several months now, producing some sporting events in football and tennis in 3D. Last April, Orange deployed a mobile unit with six stereoscopic cameras and specialized stereoscopy equipment to produce several football matches together with HBS and the French league LFP.

For this reason, its competitor Canal+ France has gotten to work and is willing to launch a 3D channel before the end of the year, thus ahead of the France Telecom subsidiary.

To be the first in this race unleashed in France, Canal+ has created a technical working group that will focus on the launch of a 3D channel, there could even be several, before the end of the year.
