Canal+ France ends its 3D broadcasts
At the end of January, Canal+ France will conclude, for the moment, its experience with stereoscopy by closing its only 3D channel.
Next January 24, Canal+ France will close its only 3D channel. With only about 30,000 subscribers and very poor programming limited only to one premiere of a successful film or one event a month, Canal+ 3D in France has not had the pull that its promoters had initially anticipated.
Perhaps the main difficulty for this premium channel to reach the audience has been precisely the lack of content since Canal+ had opted for timid stereoscopic programming accessible from different PVRs such as Le Cube, and the IPTV and SFR network terminals.
Canal+ France hopes to resume the project when the market is more mature.
