Santiago González will replace Javier Pons at the head of TVE
The current director of Radio Nacional de España will be proposed to the Board of Directors on the 11th by the president of the Corporation, Alberto Oliart, as the new director of TVE.
The president of the RTVE Corporation, Alberto Oliart, has called the Board of Directors in an extraordinary session on Monday, January 11, to propose the current director of RNE, Santiago González, as the new director of TVE, replacing Javier Pons.
A 39-year-old native of Tenerife, González has a degree in Information Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid. His entire professional career has been developed in audiovisual media. In February 2007 he took over the direction of Radio Nacional de España.
Santiago González's television experience is supported by his work as general director of the Ente Público Radiotelevisión Canaria, a position to which he was appointed in 2005. This same year, at the age of 35, he became the youngest president of FORTA.
