Santiago González will replace Javier Pons at the head of TVE

El actual director de Radio Nacional de España será propuesto al Consejo de Administración el próximo día 11 por el presidente de la Corporación, Alberto Oliart, como nuevo director de TVE.

El presidente de la Corporación RTVE, Alberto Oliart, ha convocado para el lunes 11 de enero al Consejo de Administración en sesión extraordinaria para proponer al actual director de RNE, Santiago González, como nuevo director de TVE, en sustitución de Javier Pons.

A 39-year-old native of Tenerife, González has a degree in Information Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid. His entire professional career has been developed in audiovisual media. In February 2007 he took over the direction of Radio Nacional de España.

Santiago González's television experience is supported by his work as general director of the Ente Público Radiotelevisión Canaria, a position to which he was appointed in 2005. This same year, at the age of 35, he became the youngest president of FORTA.
