Javier Pons, new deputy CEO of Unión Radio
After leaving RTVE, Pons joins the PRISA radio company with the mission of developing strategic plans for new areas and territories, with special attention to the Hispanic market in the United States and Latin America.
Javier Pons joins Unión Radio, PRISA's radio company, as number two with the position of deputy CEO. Pons will be in charge, among other missions, of developing Unión Radio's strategic plans in all its areas and territories, with special attention to the Hispanic market in the United States and Latin America.
Pons (Alcañiz, 1959) has a degree in Information Sciences from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. His professional career began at Ser as head of programs at Radio Reus and held various management positions at other stations of the organization in Catalonia. He was antenna director and general director of the French radio network M40, a company owned by RTL and SER, and upon his return to Spain he directed the 40 Principales network to later take charge of all SER music radio stations.
His experience in the field of Television began as general director of the production company El Terrat, later being named director of TVE, a position he held from 2007 until last January.
