Venue systems are celebrating five years on the market and Avid is celebrating by launching a special limited-time upgrade offer.

Avid is celebrating its fifth year in the live sound market, with its Venue systems having become a reference when it comes to mixing in the studio and producing live shows with surprising sound clarity. To commemorate this anniversary and thank its users, Avid is offering audio professionals the opportunity to upgrade their older analog or digital mixing consoles and get up to 20% off Venue systems.

Thanks to the collaboration with the most important specialized sound companies in the world (such as Clair Global, Sound Image, Firehouse Productions, Solotech, Spectrum Sound, Sweetwater Sound Productions and Clark Pro Media, among others) Venue systems, since the launch of the Venue D-Show five years ago, have been present on the most cutting-edge world tours and festivals, and on numerous television networks during the recording of their live music programs. In 2009 alone, artists and events such as U2, Paul McCartney, No Doubt, Bruce Springsteen, Coldplay, Dave Matthews Band, and Fleetwood Mac have performed their concerts with the help of Venue solutions.

And professionals like John Cooper, Bruce Springsteen's FOH technician, even say that the Venue consoles have even changed the way we mix: "today I have more control of the workflow and I can create a mix with details that were impossible a few years ago. The plug-in architecture and Virtual Soundcheck allow me to work offline to determine which plug-ins are most suitable for live mixing, as well as generate predefined settings to use them live. The possibility of recording directly in Pro Tools has also increased my production value and improved the overall process. And the support I have received from day one with Avid Digidesign is unparalleled. It is a privilege to work with such a great team.”

The revolution in live

Avid introduced the Venue D-Show system in 2005 to bring innovation to the art of live sound mixing, with a complete live sound system that offers studio-quality sound, Pro Tools plug-in effects processing, and direct connection to Pro Tools recording and playback systems. Since entering the market, Avid has made great strides in enabling users to increase live sound quality, expanding the Venue product line with a wide range of live sound environments and applications. The Venue product line includes the Venue D-Show, Venue Profile, Venue Mix Rack and Venue SC48 systems.

Furthermore, by using a common software platform, Venue D-Show allows users to learn how to use the system once, and then reuse the system files and knowledge to work on any other Venue system. It's also possible to design the Virtual Soundcheck feature, which allows users to fine-tune a mix using pre-recorded tracks from another event or rehearsal instead of having musicians try out. Finally, we would like to highlight the support of AVnu Alliance in its work to develop universal AVB (Audio/Video Bridging) network standards that will offer users full audio and video integration to improve work at live events.
