Activa Multimedia equipped with Granollers of the first municipal digital audiovisual archive

Thanks to the Compact TV audiovisual production and archiving system, Granollers will have a central repository of television content, both historical (Granollers TV) and newly created (Vallès Oriental TV), and radio (Ràdio 7 Vallès-Ràdio Granollers) as well as other video, audio and photography documents.

Granollers City Council is installing Compact TV, the audiovisual production and archiving system developed by Activa Multimèdia, for the digitization of its documentary collection. With this equipment, the Granollers Audiovisual Digital Archive (ADAG) of Granollers Audiovisual will be created, the public company that manages municipal audiovisual services. The ADAG is the first archive of its kind at the municipal level, which will act as a central repository of television content, both historical (Granollers TV) and newly created (Vallès Oriental TV), and radio (Ràdio 7 Vallès-Ràdio Granollers) and also other video, audio and photographic documents.

Initially, the archive will make accessible around 6,000 hours of video and around 4,000 hours of audio, which can be instantly retrieved online. The system, connected to other digitized documentary collections, incorporates a low-resolution visualization system and key-frame indexing to facilitate the selection and management of content by users.

The ADAG will be installed in the Audiovisual Center of the Roca Umbert – Fàbrica de les Arts cultural production complex, the venue that hosts the Audiovisual Market of Catalonia (MAC) every year.

Compact TV is a solution designed to cover all the production and archiving needs of television stations or any institution or company that needs to manage audiovisual material. The system offers a wide range of possibilities for professional production, including ingest, video editing, asset management, archiving and play-out.

The ADAG installation is being carried out thanks to the collaboration of Activa Multimèdia with Comexit, a company dedicated to multimedia and audiovisual engineering projects.
