First multimedia style manual for television, radio and interactive media
The RTVE Institute has just published the Corporation's Style Manual, which contains guidelines and recommendations to achieve maximum journalistic rigor in the work of the professionals in charge of developing the different programming contents in any medium, genre and format.
RTVE has edited the Corporation Style Manual, which the Board of Directors approved unanimously on June 2. Together with the 'RTVE Self-Regulation Code for the Defense of Minors' Rights', they have been edited by the RTVE Institute and are available on the Corporation's website.
This style manual aims to unify and systematize the ways of working of the different professionals of TVE, RNE and RTVE.ES, giving their own hallmarks and style in order to guarantee maximum informative rigor and the quality of the content offered in all genres and formats.
He RTVE Style Manual It contains guidelines and recommendations to achieve maximum journalistic rigor in the work of the professionals in charge of developing the different programming contents in any medium, genre and format. In this sense, it is considered essential to offer adequate media treatment of certain especially sensitive social issues, such as gender violence, immigration, information on events and catastrophes or those events in which minors are involved.
Furthermore, the objective of this manual is to unify and systematize the ways of working of the different professionals of the Corporation to give personality and its own style to its products, which is identifiable by the audience.
This work tool, mandatory for RTVE professionals, seeks to guarantee maximum informative rigor, independence, quality, plurality and attention to the interests of the entire society that correspond to a medium like the RTVE Corporation, committed to its public service function. Likewise, it aims to be an instrument that helps reduce the number of errors that occur in daily exercise.
Structure
The book is structured in seven chapters. The first four establish the guidelines for the professionals of the Corporation, TVE, RNE and RTVE.ES. Thus, the one dedicated to TVE professionals addresses aspects such as deficiencies in news production, the capture of images in public and private places, hidden recording or recording without consent. The fifth chapter refers to issues considered especially sensitive; the sixth, to the language in RTVE and the seventh includes legislative annexes and other documents.
