At Broadcast IT 2011, SM Data presents interesting digital storage and archiving proposals that go far beyond hardware, providing software applications that streamline workflow.

Continuing with its commitment to digital archiving systems, SM Data presenta en Broadcast IT 201 dos nuevos sistemas.

The second system presented is the StoreData SHARC Lite. It is the minimum expression of a digital file, based on LTO-5 cartridges, the same one used in high-end files and which consists of a desktop unit with an LTO drive and software that creates a volume on the desktop, as if it were a hard drive on which you can write and read - by dragging and pasting - using the explorer. But also, and perhaps most importantly, using the accompanying software, it allows you to ask the system which tape a given file is on.

At the same time, it presents the latest generation of StoreData RAID systems, with 4 8 Gbit Fiber Channel ports per controller and supporting 6 Gbit SAS and SATA drives, including the new 3 TB near-line SATA drives.
