Eurocom supplies around twenty coding and multiplexing equipment to the Castilian-La Mancha network operator that will serve to expand DTT coverage in areas of this community that until now were in shadow.

Telecom Castilla La Mancha, a radio broadcasting and telecommunications operator owned by Caja Castilla La Mancha and the Regional Government of Castilla La Mancha, has acquired twenty encoders and multiplexers from Grass Valley from Eurocom in order to complete DTT coverage in this autonomous community.

In coding, the option has been the ViBE from Thomson Grass Valley. These come in two chassis (1 and 4 channels), incorporating the Mustang encoding engine with the possibility of selecting between MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 (high profile). They offer up to eight stereo per channel, hybrid and multi-site statistical multiplexing and have a direct button for scrambling. These devices have all the interfaces of a box with analog/digital A/V inputs and ASI/GbE outputs.

In terms of signal multiplexing, NetProcessor 9030 has been integrated, Thomson equipment that works on a wide variety of interfaces (DVB-ASI, ATM, GigE/IP...) handling direct IP data injection and bit rate management.

At the end of November, Telecom CLM transformed the skyline of the Toledo neighborhood of Santa María de Benquerencia with a new communications tower that provides service to all of Castilla-La Mancha. The 85-meter tower, with several platforms at its highest part, houses the nodal center of the operator's communication, Internet and DTT systems.
