Leveraging both companies' cloud-based tools and workflows, the pre-integrated solution streamlines remote productions and speeds up time to live content.

LiveU LiveU y Grass Valley come together to offer a pre-integrated cloud-based solution to live remote productions, allowing clients to simplify their processes and automate live or delayed news and sports productions in an efficient, agile and customizable workflow.

Avi Cohen, co-founder and COO of LiveU, highlights that “with the continued shift to cloud production, we are committed to helping our customers maximize these new efficiencies, delivering our live video solutions as a service with pre-integrated workflows.”

"Our collaboration with Grass Valley offers customers a highly efficient, flexible and scalable set of tools to go on air from the field, providing greater flexibility to adapt to the needs of each and every story, giving a richer viewing experience. Remote live production can be orchestrated from anywhere through the integrated cloud environments of LiveU and Grass Valley, or using a hybrid model of choice, integrating high-quality live video feeds with intelligent automated production capabilities," he adds.

The collaboration facilitates live production and targeted news and asset management, helping to simplify processes and accelerate live broadcasts with compelling content.

For example, high-quality live streams can be sent from any of LiveU's field units for remote switching and live production using LiveU's cloud solution with Grass Valley's GV AMPP (Agile Media Processing Platform), its cloud-based SaaS platform for streaming that takes full advantage of the power of elastic computing. Built for the cloud from the ground up, GV AMPP is specifically designed to overcome broadcasters' reliance on expensive and inflexible hardware-based media systems and provides a modular approach to daily media workflows.

Alternatively, live feeds from LiveU units can be integrated into GV Stratus' news and asset management tool to streamline the remote news collection and production workflow. Using LiveU live video metadata to automate the process and provide metadata-rich assets within GV Stratus, users can quickly search, navigate, edit and publish content (live or archive) using a range of intelligent search criteria and through the intelligent rules engine.

About LiveU joining the Grass Valley Technology Alliance (GVTA), Tim Shoulders, CEO and president of Grass Valley, states that "as our customers strive to deliver the compelling content and high production values that consumers demand, the GVTA gives them access to trusted solutions that are tested and configured to ensure interoperability with Grass Valley solutions, one of the main obstacles our customers face when deploying multi-vendor systems. We are delighted to see LiveU join the GVTA and the first deployments of our joint solution in the field."
