LiveU, a company specialized in solutions for video contribution over mobile networks, and Make.Tv, focused on cloud-based production, have closed an alliance for the integration of the two technologies in order to provide end users direct access to sources from LiveU from the Make.tv production system itself.
Make.tv offers solutions for live, interactive cloud-based broadcasting and collaboration using a web-based interface. Its versatile production software allows users to create multiple camera streams alongside pre-recorded material. The Studio is the heart of the Make.tv experience and is a powerful application where users' live productions are joined with a variety of sources, including live streams, previously uploaded content and social media applications.
High definition signals from LiveU can now be included directly in Make.Tv to mix with other incoming sources and enrich them with designs, effects, interactive functions... The resulting live stream (or line cut) can be transmitted live to any RTMP streaming server, such as YouTube Live, Ustream or to direct CDNs such as Akamai or Limelight.
Ronen Artman, Vice President of Marketing at LiveU, said: "For remote production over mobile networks, cloud-based solutions, using a well-designed and integrated graphical user interface, provide a high new level of flexibility for innovative users. With the full integration of our technology, Make.TV will be able to cost-effectively provide a greater experience for viewers. LiveU's technology, whether that backpack, belt-clip, smartphone or our software-based application provides enormous mobility and flexibility, now having a studio anywhere with just a laptop and an Internet connection.”
For his part, Make.tv CEO Andreas Jacobi added that "this technology can be used for any live or sporting event, where multiple cameras are in use. It is also an ideal solution when contributions are coming in from multiple locations with reporters and editors also in different locations. We have harnessed the power of the cloud to create this integrated solution."
