Projectiondesign presents the F35, its new WQXGA DLP projector, at ISE'10
The Norwegian Projectiondesign has presented this morning at Integrated Systems Europe, and in a world premiere, its new high-performance DLP projector F35 WQXGA that offers a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600.
Presented as a world premiere at ISE 2010, Projectiondesign's new F35 series of DLP projectors was unveiled this morning in Amsterdam. The Norwegian manufacturer highlights that it is the first projector in the world to use the Texas Instruments WQXGA DLP chip that offers a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels.
WQXGA resolution offers 78% more pixels than WUXGA (1,920 x 1,200) and more than five times the pixels of a standard XGA display. The result is an image with a very high pixel density that requires fewer projectors to generate ultra-realistic images, with sharpness and clarity unmatched by other display solutions designed for the simulation, research and visualization markets.

For his part, Roger Carver, head of the DLP front projection area at Texas Instruments, has acknowledged that he is "delighted that Projectiondesign has used the WQXGA chip in a projector as avant-garde and surprising as the F35. This is not the first time that we have provided our technology to this innovative company to introduce it to the market. We see this launch as a great step forward in technology and it is truly gratifying to see projectiondesign take advantage of this ultra-high resolution in such an effective and imaginative way."
The new F35 will be available during the second half of this year.
Remote Light Source
To put an end to the problem of noise generated by the projector fan, Projectiondesign has just presented the Remote Light Sourse at ISE 2010, a system that would allow the lamp to be moved away from the device. Thanks to a special cable called Liquid Light Guide (LLG). The system is based on a fiber optic cable of a certain thickness that is in a liquid state and through which the light from the projection would navigate. In this way, the FR12 would be composed of a central unit in charge of projecting the video that could be located at a distance of up to 30 meters from the external lens. In addition to eliminating noise, we would be able to increase the life of the lamp by having it in a cool and spacious place.
